The past two weeks have been crazy exciting! We've seen a lot of new friendships develop and trust coming between one another. There are already sibling dynamics coming out and our squads chemistry is so GOOD!! I've been super thankful for all of the great people I've met and the opportunities I've encountered. Everyday except Sundays we've had sessions that all help us to grow in the different aspects of our lives: socially, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. These sessions have been huge for personal reflection and character growth. Additionally, these sessions have also helped to put a handle on some of the things we will encounter over the next nine months. We've got to talk through what a cultural lens is, how our lenses have been cultivated due to living in the United States, and how to approach situations where other parties do not share our view point. We've also talked a lot about how there are going to be every day life instances that look significantly different than what we typically encounter, and this is not bad at all. The way these other cultures have been sustained and developed is what is right for their people. We are coming in when they are in a time and a place of need, we are not coming in to change or disrespect their current way of life. There's been many good discussions and debriefs after every session between my sways that all us to wrestle out all aspects of what we've discussed during sessions! I'm super grateful for everyone who has supported me in being able to come on this journey and I'm excited for what comes next! We are hoping to go down to Florida in the next few weeks for hurricane relief to domestic communities before we go overseas in October!
